The weekend

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Ours was great.Hubby and I had our 6th anniversary and despite three wound up monkeys,we had a good time.We did a fondue last night,it was GOOD!The kids even left us alone for the time being, which was weird.

I also want to say this:
Atlanta,I am VERY proud of you!Despite the snow warnings, there was still milk, bread and water in the stores. It looked like everyone was focust on Christmas shopping, the grocery stores were abandoned. There was no snow. All we had was a few fluries for maybe 10 minutes. But it is cold! The thermomenter outside showed 10 degrees with a windshield that made you think you live on the Northpole.I don't even remember the last time I was THIS cold!

We also seem to have added another "pet" to our family. It appears that a certain Mister Mouse or,honestly,I think its a Mister RAT,has found his way into our house a few weeks ago.He makes a racket that sounds like a beaver is chewing a log cabin down.So far he seems to be happy under our kitchen sink.counter setting, where is it IMPOSSIBLE to get to (for us).He seems to have developed a noose for dog food, because as soon as I have it in the house,he tries to chew his way out from under the kitchen. So far so good, please let the almighty wood gods prevent him from coming actually INTO the kitchen (or house for that matter). We have made it a habit to put dog food out into the back yard (where it was during the summer month and where the dogs spent their nights to hunt him down and keep us awake that way).Mister Mouse/rat seems to accept the offer for most of the time.Saturday night we caught him munching on the front porch (dog food is there for Nine-Eye),he raced under the car and after clapping hands he came out and ran....I don't know where. But he was FAST.(Approximately)10 inches of body and tail ran so fast that all you could see was a gray blurr. My dogs where not impressed. It figures.Obviously the only time they care is when its summer, hot and when they can keep us up at night.Even when Mister Mouse/Rat is doing his chop-down work under the kitchen, neither three cats nor dogs seem to care. Its just another addition to the family, another mouth to feed and now I am starting to wish that I would NOT have cats and dogs who get along with birds, rodents, burglars and other living things.I am now considering adopting some kind of dangerous creature that will take care of all the business my other beloved animals NEGLECT!Granted,my cats are excellent roach catchers but only the slow ones ever make it into my cats claws. But boy believe me......southersn roaches are NOT slow. They know better.Speed should be measured in "roach power" not horse power.I have seen roaches that beat the fastest race horse!
Of course I could use poison to kill Mister Mouse/Rat but I won't,there are just too many animals and kids here.Traps suck,I have seen rats and mice chew themselves out of those. Its a mess. Not fun and I am not going to go under the house, into the crawl space to look for missing body parts and clean up murder scenes. So,I decided on a live trap.A square box with entrance but no exit. But for some reason these things are sold out everywhere this time a year.....weird...
Unfortunately when it comes to animals,I am not a cruel person.I can't kill them,I simply can't.I realize that that is a bad attitude when it comes to rats and mice but even the experts swear that it is more successful to relocate the food source and therefore the pest. That way you can close holes and whatever they use to to get in without trapping them and then they just chew out somewhere else, most likely your bedroom.....
I am still hoping to one day adopt the mind of a serial killer.
